I thought the article was cool as more of a Q&A set up. I like hearing the thought process of why people do what they do, from the person, rather than speculation. The progress of the Dustin was cool and seemed pretty confident. It takes guts going from a company that helped to shape your career and then go off on your own. But he seemed to go with such confidence that he gained all that he needed to keep growing and learning, especially when we would get picked up on these contract jobs. I also liked that the one producer, Paul, didn’t just throw away people’s ideas because they didn’t fit right then and there, but he held them for a time more fitting. It was also more likely if you did a good job, that you’d get a call back for more projects.
There was a clear outline on what was being asked of the graphic team and everyone worked together in order to get the project done. Dustin showed that there will be times that there will be more than one idea. You’re not going to achieve all in one shot or as easy like the last movie. It would seem that Drunk in Love poster was easier to come up with vs. There Will Be Blood. One must take each project individually. Be able to be open to critique even while branching on your own.
